8: Making a sombrero

We wanted to share this video posted by FEM. It shows the amazing artwork by the Zenú artisans. Notice the amount of time that goes into preparing the material for weaving and the technique used for creating the long strips that can then be sown into sombreros (hats) and mochilas (bags). We cannot wait to see it happening in real life!

A couple days ago, we met Wilfrido who is the link between FEM, us and the Zenú community in Cartagena. He is currently running in the municipal election - so cross your fingers!! We are also arranging to go to San Jacinto with him to visit the Zenú community there.
