9: Shaping lampshades

We went to the community on a very hot Sunday, looking foward to visit the community in daylight.

We helped Wilfrido to bring chairs to the small park in the community. He told us that people were going to show up little by little. Half an hour later we were 10 people including us - the biggest turnout so far.

The purpose of the workshop was to co-design a lamp design, using the weaved cana flecha as material. The first excercise was for all participants to sketch ideas of a lamp hanging from the ceiling.

Wilfrido's vueltiao (hat) was used at a reference point throughout the workshop. It help us when talking about shapes, materials and weaving tecniques.

All of the participants shared their ideas, and in common we decided wich three sketching that were going to be build into card bord models. All participants seemed very enthusiastic about the workshop and were contributing a lot with ideas and thoughts. At the end of the workshop we chose 1 lamp design, that would be build into a prototype the following week.
